Bodenkarte von Niedersachsen 1 : 50 000 - Effektive Durchwurzelungstiefe
Der Boden dient den Pflanzen als Speicher für Wasser und Nährstoffe. Um die Größe des Speichers zu beschreiben wird der effektive Wurzelraum bzw. die effektive Durchwurzelungstiefe (We) bestimmt. Die We ist die potenzielle Ausschöpftiefe des pflanzenverfügbaren Bodenwassers, das durch Pflanzenwurzeln in Trockenjahren dem Boden maximal entzogen werden kann. Die Karte der „Effektiven Durchwurzelungstiefe des Bodens“ zeigt die Größe des Wurzelraumes in dm, klassifiziert in 6 Stufen. Die We ist abhängig von der Textur, der Lagerungsdichte, dem Humusgehalt, der Schichtung und der Nutzung des Bodens sowie vom Grundwasserstand.
