Die Grundlage für den Datensatz bilden die Unterlagen des LBEG Archivs, in dem die Berichterstattung der Erdöl-Erdgasindustrie auf gesetzlicher Grundlage (Geologiedatengesetzt bzw. ehgemaliges Lagerstättengesetz) abgelegt ist. Ergänzt werden diese Daten durch Datenbankauszüge der Industriefirmen und Aufbereitung dieser digitalen Bestände durch das LBEG.
